“Here the material itself is nothing more than a colour reference. We are close to things that speak to the eye by diverting it from what they are in terms of production, quality of material, or richness - whether real or otherwise.
For walnut and mahogany we have substituted a sensation of colour
, a coloured shadow.
Our intention was to create an opposition between an immaterial object and that which is most incarnate - food, something that can be weighed, cut and tasted. “
